Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) is unwavering in its commitment to upholding ethical labour standards and human rights across all aspects of its operations. UMK enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy against forced labour, modern slavery, human trafficking, and child labour ensuring that every individual within the university community is treated with dignity, respect, and fairness.
This policy is firmly aligned with national legislation, particularly the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act 2007 (ATIPSOM 2007), which serves as Malaysia’s legal framework to prevent and punish acts of exploitation in any form. As stated in the Act, any person who engages in the trafficking of individuals for exploitation faces serious legal consequences, including imprisonment and fines.
UMK continuously strengthens its governance systems, ethical recruitment practices, and contractor compliance measures to safeguard the rights and wellbeing of all employees, students, and stakeholders. Through proactive monitoring and enforcement, the University ensures a transparent, safe, and exploitation-free environment grounded in integrity and lawful conduct.
Together, we stand committed to protecting human dignity and ensuring that exploitation has no place within UMK.
